Canterbury Library strives to provide students the opportunity to fall in love with reading and independent learning. We believe students are entitled access to inclusive, diverse, quality and relevant resources that embody our student population and their experiences. We encourage students to explore literature and information that expands their academic and personal interests.

STORY TIME IN THE LIBRARY

Every other week, students come into the library and enjoy 2 - 3 stories on our story steps. The stories selected are based on annual holidays, monthly observances, or special curated themes. We usually read one nonfictional story and a fictional story.

Story selections will vary by grade.

ONLINE READ-ALOUDS

We highly encourage families to visit our YouTube Channel to take advantage of our virtual library collection of read-aloud to share and enjoy at home. Reading aloud to a child is essential in developing reading comprehension, vocabulary and fluency skills!
